I think that writing is often a way of celebrating, and I realized I wanted to do more of it here, that I needed to, that my soul wanted it. And so I've been building in structures that help me do it, so I put my butt in the chair and write the words I need to write.

Melissa - Great to see you here! I love Tuesday's Unwrapped, so I love that comparison. I think I realized that I needed to invite celebration in slowly, make it a daily thing where it wasn't so built-up with the expectations. Once I'm more comfortable there, I think I'll be able to do it better other places, too.Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05220448315369951650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1863554872321330259.post-4763608420042712272010-09-19T16:46:29.584-06:002010-09-19T16:46:29.584-06:00I love to celebrate! He has that same fear of disappointment that you wrote about. He doesn't want to get his hopes up and ruin the occasion when they're not met. I like your process for learning to celebrate; it's kind of like Emily's Tuesdays Unwrapped at Chatting at the Sky. Finding joy in the daily that would normally be overlooked. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1863554872321330259.post-19527229872240927262010-09-19T11:13:28.277-06:002010-09-19T11:13:28.277-06:00I can feel the difficulty of this celebration in y...I can feel the difficulty of this celebration in your words ... and the stories you shared about your early years and the expectations that came with celebration touched on some of my own memories, too.

I've noticed you've been writing in several intentional ways lately ... participating with other writing communities around the web, writing your gratitude lists, writing your way through God in the Yard ... and there's something about these acts of regular, intentional writings that has felt celebratory in some way to me for you. Perhaps it is the commitment to doing it, and doing it honestly, that I admire in you through this.

That seems to resonate with where you've landed: celebrating accomplishments, even if they are part of the everyday ordinary.christiannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06278757714101308785noreply@blogger.com
