Without further ado . . .

. . . I'm pregnant! Sometime in the middle of January, Dave and I are going to have a wee one. Little Winfrey is about 8 weeks old and seems to be doing well. We got to see the heartbeat on ultrasound last week and it was so special!!

As for me (because that's almost always the next question), I'm doing ok. I don't have morning sickness to speak of, but I'm more tired than I had ever thought something currently less than two inches long could make me, and my immune system isn't at its best (apparently, it's not supposed to be . . . the things they never tell you about pregnancy!). That tiredness is part of why I haven't been around here much, but I wanted to share our news!

Yay!!

I'm so thrilled for you guys. I'm starting to imagine a Little Winfrey toddling around in the world, and it makes me smile. You're going to be an amazing mom, girlie.

Sorry to hear about the tiredness. That is something many friends have shared about their experience in the first trimester, in particular. Strange that something so small could be sapping so much from your reserves! But how cool that God made your body able to give it all that it needs while nesting in there.

Will you find out if it's a girl or a boy?

All the same, I'm glad the baby won't come out toddling!! And I wish that work was somewhat more supportive of my body giving the little one all it needs to nest, but I'll survive.

And yes, by all means, we'll find out the gender!! I want to know!

Oh how cool!!! Yippee!! Glad it's not me. But, that is only because I would be a dysfunctional parent.

But you will be a wonderful parent no doubt. Wow that is great Sarah.

I am celebrating with you.......another excuse to drink. Ha just kidding.

Heather--thanks! We're excited, too.

Steph--We were SO relieved!

Terri--Thanks for the vote of confidence...sometimes it seems more than a little daunting.

Tams--You can have mine, but only until I give birth to this baby. Then I want it back, ya hear? ;)

What the bleep!?
Another one bites the dust. They're falling like flies.
(Other people's pregnancy makes me break out in cliches--another side affect no one tells you about.)
Seriously--congrats! I can't wait to see how your creativity takes over in whole new realms.
So, because I'm nosy--planned or surprise?

Thanks, Heather. And some of both. We'd planned to get pregnant, but it happened much faster than we'd thought it would ;) My prayer is that being a parent fosters my creativity and doesn't squelch it (that's the fear...).

Congratulations, Sarah (and Dave)! Glad you've joined the prego club! :o)

Sarah said...

Thanks, Jen. As a side note, why do I hate the word "prego" (along with "preggers")? Weird.

Jen said...

Ha! I think I used to hate it, too. Guess I got over it.

Prego . . . it's in there.

Wow, wow, wow! :)

Congratulations.

The fatigue goes away after about the three-month point. That's the good news. Well, until you get to the part where the baby keeps you up all night. ;-)

Congratulations!!

Thanks Kirsten!

LL, MY baby will NEVER keep me up all night! (isn't that what I'm supposed to say, at this point?)

Jen, thanks so much!!
